What’s Cooking? is kind of like the perfect Thanksgiving anthology film. The movie focuses on four very distinctive families. Each one is ethnically diverse and deals with their own Thanksgiving traditions, celebrations, and turmoil. Every family has their obstacles to overcome and challenges to face.

The Seelig’s welcome their daughter home from college only to find that something is very different about her. The Nguyen’s realize their own children are hiding some dirty secrets. The Avila family is dealing with an affair and separation anxiety. Finally, the Williams family involves some mother-in-law criticism and marital tension.

7. Babes in Toyland (1934)

  • Directed by: Gus Meins and Charles Rogers
  • Starring: Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy, Charlotte Henry, Felix Knight, Henry Kleinbach, Florence Roberts, and Virginia Karns

This musical Christmas movie should put you right in the mood for the holidays! While we recommend you check out the classic version, there are other versions and reissues available on Amazon to watch if you prefer.

The film is loosely based on the original play of the same name but the movie takes great liberties in changing much of the plot. The movie follows the grand adventure of Stannie Dum and Ollie Dum as they attempt to help Mother Peep get free of Silas Barnaby’s clutches.
