4. Cassie has a little too much fun on the carousel.
I admit I’m still somewhat confused about what Euphoria intends to do with Cassie’s character. Right now, she is purely defined by her sexuality, and it’s coming across more exploitative than it is as deep and meaningful.
She’s treated terribly by her boyfriend yet again. In the act of rebellion, she and Maddy take Molly. Cassie finds a cute boy at the carnival and coaxes him into riding the carousel with her. While on the ride, she begins to truly feel herself and eventually climaxes during the trip (how long was that ride though, seriously?).
Afterward, she notices the crowd of people waiting in line had seen her acting like she was taking part in an XXX show. They call her names and show genuine disgust at her performance. Cassie is left to leave the carnival with her tail tucked between her legs. It’s a sad moment for her because I feel like she doesn’t have a sound support system around her.

It sucks that people constantly whittle her down to a sex object. Hopefully, she begins to take ownership of her body and dump Algee, who is always judging her.
3. Cal begs Jules not to ruin his life.
It turns out Cal is a heavyweight chili champion, so of course, he’s present at the carnival, and he does win, again. Jules deliberately approaches Cal to catch him off guard so she can prove to Rue he was the guy she slept with at the motel.
It works. Cal is so shaky he spills the first cup of chili. He then tracks Jules down and begs her not to tell anyone. He recognizes she holds all the power in their relationship and could force him to lose everything if she wanted to.
Jules isn’t that kind of person. She never intended to ruin his life (although she definitely should). Cal is a sick man and a predator, who has a drawer of child pornography and will probably keep doing precisely what he’s been doing.
It’s pretty disturbing that a grown man would approach his victim and ask her to stay quiet (but then, he doesn’t see her as a victim).
