10. Ray Donovan

Ray Donovan is a crime drama series that has six seasons and currently 72 episodes. While it may not be a very mainstream show, it is one of Showtime’s best – highly rated with a 86% audience Rotten Tomatoes score and scoring 8.3/10 on IMDb. For a lot of popular series, episodes tend to decrease in quality as more seasons get put out but fans say that Ray Donovan only gets better.

Donovan (Liev Schreiber) is a professional “fixer” or “crime cleaner” who makes the problems for the rich and the famous in Los Angeles go away. He does whatever is possible for his clients. The drama unfolds when his father unexpectedly gets released from prison, which sets off a chain of events which causes issues for the Donovan family.

Luckily Showtime renewed the series for another season back in December last year, meaning production will start very soon. So this gives you plenty of time to catch up.

You can watch Ray Donovan through Amazon Channels with a Showtime subscription for $8.99 per month starting with a seven-day free trial.

9. Homeland

Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) is a CIA agent in the counter-terrorism unit and the show begins with her suspecting the intentions of US Marine Sergeant Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis) – a war hero who was held as a prisoner for eight years by al-Qaeda – who has now returned home.

Carrie believes Nicholas Brody is a terrorist sleeper agent and that he has been turned against his own government by the terrorist faction. The country fails to believe Carrie due to the respect of Brody and his heroism, making her start to even doubt herself.

Homeland is a critically acclaimed thrilling drama series with a 85% on Rotten Tomatoes and 8.3/10 IMDb score. It has seven seasons (with Season 8 set as it’s final season supposedly being released sometime this year) and a total of 84 episodes so far to date.
