5 canceled TV shows in May Amazon should definitely save
1. Proven Innocent
The live ratings were terrible for this show, but FOX didn’t help with that with the scheduling. You don’t put a new show on a Friday night! It shouldn’t be surprising to hear that The Cool Kids and Proven Innocent were the two FOX freshman Friday night TV shows canceled — Last Man Standing arguably worked on Fridays because it wasn’t a freshman show and more of a revival.
There are so many possibilities in the future for this legal drama, and Amazon is certainly a good place for it. After all, Amazon has become the home of many legal, con-man, and cop dramas. We just have to look at the love and success for Bosch, Goliath, and Sneaky Pete to know there’s an audience.
Proven Innocent wouldn’t have to deal with the worry of nobody tuning in live. The show can drop and people binge watch over a weekend. And this is a show that definitely works better as a binge. One of the problems with the series is that the pilot episode was cringe-worthy and the second episode wasn’t all that much better, but it was great once you got into it.
The cast was definitely strong and there are a lot of opportunities for storylines. Amazon should definitely consider this series.
