4. Outlander

The Man in the High Castle is a book adaptation, so it makes sense that another book adaptation will be on this list. Outlander offers more than that though. It’s a romance, fantasy series, based on the novel series by Diana Gabaldon.

It all starts with a WWII nurse, who finds herself traveling through time to 1743. From there, she needs to figure out a way back, while learning that her husband’s ancestor may not be the gentleman history now makes him out to be.

While in the past, she meets a Scotsman, Jamie McTavish. Yet it’s soon clear that he’s keeping a dark secret, one that she eventually learns before falling in love with him. Will she remain in the past or find her way back to her own time to be with her husband?

There are currently four seasons of Outlander available. A fifth season is currently filming and a sixth season has been confirmed. There are currently eight books in the series with a ninth being worked on and a 10th planned. There’s certainly plenty of material to get through while you wait for The Man in the High Castle Season 4.
