Amazon should save: Z Nation

Number of seasons: SYFY

When it was canceled: Z Nation has been one of the more recent cancellations by SYFY after four seasons.

What it’s about: As you would expect from the title, Z Nation is a series that involves zombies. It’s been years since a zombie virus and Murphy is the only one left who survived the infection and could be the key to a cure or vaccine. The problem is Murphy is in New York and the viral lab to create the vaccine is in California. In a dystopian world, you can likely see where the issue lies.

Why it needs to be saved: There aren’t many zombie shows that I love to watch. Z Nation has always been one of them. It takes the zombie apocalypse and twists it on its head. It’s not been afraid to take out some of its lead characters and leave you wondering whether the world will ever be safe.

With the questions left over at the end of the fourth season, we need a fifth. Considering Amazon Prime Video has done well with dystopian future/sci-fi shows (even though there aren’t that many) Z Nation would be a perfect addition to the roaster.

In danger: Murphy Brown

Network: CBS

Can you watch on Amazon Prime? It’s available through Amazon Channels with CBS All Access

What it’s about: A revival of the original series, Candice Brown and almost all the original cast returned for the series. Murphy Brown picks up with a time jump from the original series, delivering the same timely content with plenty of humor.

Why it’s in danger: Murphy Brown was one of two fall freshman shows on CBS not picked up for a full season. This was an immediate sign that it was in danger. Now that some freshman shows have been picked up for a second season, the fate of it is even more certain.

The revival had hoped to counter the success ABC had with Roseanne in the 2017-2018 season. However, it just couldn’t get off the ground. Ratings are a pain.
