Why get it: This is one of those movies for the whole family. It’s full of songs, dancing, and feel-good moments. Mary Poppins has a lesson for all. And while the movie may seem somewhat familiar to the original, it’s still just as beautiful and iconic. Plus, the younger generations won’t notice and it is a family movie after all! This is one for those who want to relive Mary Poppins with their kids.
1. Aquaman
When it’s released: Mar. 26, 2019 (Digital released Mar. 5)
Starring: Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Nicole Kidman
What it’s about: The DC movie is about the Justice League member, Aquaman. This is his origin story, although he was introduced in the Justice League movie first. Atlantis is the underwater kingdom, Earths’ most advanced civilization. King Orm rules over with an iron fist and need for power and when he decides he wants to conquer all those in the ocean and on the surface, Aquaman needs to step up to take the throne. After all, he is the only true heir.
Why get it: If you haven’t enjoyed DC movies so far, you may be tempted to avoid this one. Those who laughed at the idea of Aquaman getting his own movie may have also decided against it. However, this surpassed expectations, similar to Wonder Woman in 2017. Those who want a great origin story, a slightly different superhero, and excellent writing/acting should get this movie.
