What it’s about: Based on the novel of the same name by William Brinkley, the series started about a ship of passengers who are the only ones not infected by a virus. The fifth (and final) season saw war break out and Dane’s team of sailors have to prevent it.
Why get it: If you want a virus epidemic series with a twist, The Last Ship is one that went under the radar. It’s perfect for military show fans, Eric Dane fans, and those who love a good book adaptation. The complete series is also available on DVD and Blu-ray at the same time.

9. The Last Man

Starring: Hayden Christensen, Harvey Keitel, Marco Leonardi, Justin Kelly, Liz Solari
What it’s about: The Last Man sees the issue of accelerated global warming cause worldwide weather changes. Almost impossible to survive, PTSD-suffering combat veteran, Kurt, builds a private bunker under his house to survive. He has inner demons to face, which his security guard boss’ daughter helps him fight. It’s soon possible that he could be the last man around to help keep humanity alive.
Why get it: There are plenty of doomsday movies out there and this is another one to add to your collection. While not the most outstanding movie on this list, it’s most definitely one to get when you want to sit back and just relax. It’s a guilty pleasure for many — just don’t expect any life lessons.
