3. Irish Luck

Never heard of Irish Luck? Well, now you have and it’s time to put it on. This 1939 movie stars Frankie Darro, Dick Purcell, and Mantan Moreland.

Purcell plays a flustered lawman who needs to figure out a murder in a hotel. Who’s there to help him? How about a suspicious bellboy, played by Darro?

This is most definitely the movie for you if you’re a Darro fan. He rarely played a different character and that’s all part of the charm. It certainly is in this. While he’s suspicious and snoopy, he also has the luck of the Irish. You can figure out what I mean by that when you watch Irish Luck.

The 1930s movie isn’t one that you’ll want to take seriously. It’s a dark comedy and that’s certainly another part of the charm. If you love the likes of Arsenic and Old Lace, you’re going to enjoy Irish Luck. It’ll surprise you, so I definitely urge you to just give it a try.

One thing I will warn you about is that it is a movie set within its time. That’s something to consider as you watch some of the cringey storylines.

What are you losing out on when it’s part of Amazon Prime Video?
