The Upside has become a surprise hit in theaters. So when will The Upside come out on DVD, Blu-ray, and digital for us to watch at home?
January is not usually the best month for new movie releases in theaters. Normally filled with box office flops or just outright terrible movies, you get the odd gem, but not many. The Upside is one of those odds gems. A huge surprise, everybody has been talking about the feel-good comedy. So when will The Upside come out on DVD, Blu-ray, and digital so we can watch it at home?
The Upside only just came out in theaters. It arrived on Jan. 11, so we don’t have an official DVD and Blu-ray release date for the Kevin Hart and Bryan Cranston movie. But we can give you a rough estimate.
On average, movies take three to four months from their initial theatrical release date to come to DVD and Blu-ray. There is the odd exception of course, but that is the average. Which means you are looking at April, or May at the latest, for the movie to come out on DVD and Blu-ray.
Digital however is another thing. Digital copies of the latest movies come out before the DVD and Blu-ray. You can get your digital copy of the movies around two to four months before the DVD and Blu-ray. Again there is the odd exception, but if it sticks to the norm you are looking at March or April before The Upside becomes available on digital.
As soon as a release date is announced we will let you know. But for now, you are looking at sometime in April or May for your DVD and Blu-ray copy of The Upside and March or April for your digital copy of the movie.
