10 most highly anticipated TV shows coming in 2019
6. Roswell, New Mexico
When it comes to reboots, there’s one that has been needed for a long time. Roswell, New Mexico comes from Carina Adly MacKenzie, who is stripping back the story to the book series instead of the 90s TV show. The characters are getting their original surnames and ethnicities. The only difference is that it’s set 10 years later to bring a more adult story.
A love story first, followed by drama and sci-fi, Roswell, New Mexico is going to appeal to those who adored the books and the basis of the original series. This reboot even has the original stars behind it, with 90s Liz, Sherri Abbleby, directing an episode.
Roswell, New Mexico is one of the first 2019 shows to premiere, airing on Jan. 15 on The CW. You’ll be able to buy the episodes through Amazon.
5. Brooklyn Nine-Nine
The Nine-Nine is back. Like Lucifer, it was one of FOX’s big cancellations and fans were immediately not happy. They combined their powers on social media, encouraging someone to save the fate of the police comedy. And yes, NBC picked it up — admitting it made a mistake when it passed on the series five years earlier.
Starring Andy Samberg, Terry Crews, and a strong diverse cast, this is one of the best comedies on the market. The characters have their own personalities and aren’t cliches of themselves, something that seems to have been overlooked until recently. Even Samberg’s Jake isn’t a complete cliche of himself.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 6 premieres on NBC on Jan. 10. You’ll be able to buy the episodes through Amazon.
