8. The Twilight Zone

Who didn’t love The Twilight Zone growing up? Even if you weren’t around when it first starting 60 years ago, you will have watched reruns. This is, by far, the scariest show ever to grace TV shows. Say what you want about American Horror Story, some episodes of Supernatural, and even the realistic horrors of The Handmaid’s TaleThe Twilight Zone started it all.

And now it’s coming back. CBS All Access will offer the new episodes, setting it up for an anthology series like the original. One of the best things about it is that Oscar-winning director Jordan Peele is overseeing this reboot we didn’t know we needed.

Adam Scott, Steven Yeun, Sanaa Lathan, and John Cho are currently lined up to star in episodes. There may be some remakes of some of the classic, scariest episodes of the original series, but there will also be new stories to watch through your fingers.

As the show is coming to CBS All Access, you’ll be able to watch with an Amazon Channels subscription. No set date has been announced yet but it will be sometime in 2019.

7. Deadly Class

The first on this list with a premiere date, Deadly Class is the graphic novel adaptation you need to put on your list. Just one episode in and I’m already hooked. You can even watch the pilot episode online to see what all the hype is about.

Deadly Class focuses on Marcus (Teen Wolf’s Benjamin Wadsworth), a homeless kid who is offered a place at Kings Dominion. A school for the deadliest elite, he has to work his way through the cliques, the risks, and the threats.

This is one of the most diverse shows you’ll find in January 2019. While there are some stereotypes, they’re done for a reason. Scratch beneath the surface and you’ll find so much more.

Deadly Class premieres on Jan. 16 on SYFY.
