3. The Miracle on 34th Street

Next up is one of the most magical movies ever and this is perfect for the whole family, The Miracle on 34th Street. Even better, it’s available with your Prime membership, so you can stream it all you want throughout the Christmas season. It’s the 1955 adaptation of the 1947 original, but still just as good.

The kids are going to love the tale, one that reminds them that Santa Claus is real and there’s definitely magic in the season. Thomas Mitchell plays Santa, who ends up working at a Macy’s department store as a mall Santa. He causes problems when he routinely claims that he’s the real Santa and that leads to a legal battle.

The 1955 movie has a major benefit for those with children. It’s a shorter version, made for TV. Those who have children that struggle to sit still through feature length movies will finally have something that’s easier for them.

This is also perfect for after Christmas dinner, when there isn’t much time left before the kids are in bed. They’ll get a Christmas miracle to end their wonderful day.

Don’t go into it expecting the blockbuster success of other Christmas movies. It’s not a blockbuster and it was made in 1955. There’s still an element of magic there and children around the world adore it. Isn’t that what matters?
