6. Assassination Nation

Next, it’s all about Assassination Nation. Starring Bella Thorne, Bill Skarsgård, and Hari Nef, the movie follows high school senior Lily and her best friends. Everything is pretty normal for today’s society. The teenagers live through texts, social media updates, and selfies until their world is turned upside down.

When a hacker gets into their messages, he/she starts to release them all to the world. Dirty secrets and embarrassing messages are read by people the teens have never wanted to see.

If only that was the worst of it. Soon, the anger turns into violence and the teens are up against an armed mob. Maybe try Snapchat next time?

5. Little Women

2018 brought a new adaptation of Little Women. For those who adore the original movie, this one could be a little like Marmite. However, if you love cheesy chick-flicks and feel-good movies then it’s definitely for you.

The story is all about the March sisters, Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy. In a modern-day telling of the movie, we get to see Jo head off to New York with the intention of penning a novel. However, her editor starts to challenge her abilities. Why not write about her family?

Her other sisters have their own hopes and dreams, too. All seems to go well until Beth gets sick and tragedy pulls Jo back home.
