Camping

Network: HBO

Number of seasons: 1

What it’s about:

Why it’s in danger of being canceled: Okay, I’m most definitely cheating with this one. HBO, which you can get as part of the Amazon Channels, promoted Camping as a limited series. Yes, the network has decided to renew a limited series before, but I don’t think that’s going to be the case for the Jennifer Garner-led series.

Garner isn’t likely going to return, especially since she’s signed on for a limited series at Apple with J.J. Abrams. Then there’s the fact that the views just weren’t great and EP Jenni Koner has pretty much said the show won’t run a second season.

Hey, HBO could decide to do something crazy, like make it an anthology series, but I don’t think the network will. There are too many other opportunities out there.

Comrade Detective

Network: Amazon

Number of seasons: 1

Why it’s in danger of being canceled: This Amazon was released back in 2017 and there has been nothing about it since. While it had plenty of raving reviews, Amazon is still waiting to decide whether it’s going to pick up another season of the series.

One of the downsides is that this is a production between American and Romania. Both countries would need to be on board for the show to continue. After all, it’s the allure of the Romania actors with the English dubbing that actually makes this comedy stand out for positive reasons. It’s one of the only times dubbing works!

If Amazon can’t get some sort of renewal in order, then we may find out it’s finally canceled in 2019.
