30 shows in danger of cancellation in 2019
South Park
Network:Â Comedy Central
Number of seasons:Â 22
Why it’s in danger of being canceled: This is one of those comedy shows that I will always hold close to my heart. It’s a show that I’ve loved from the start. Not afraid to be offensive, it was fresh and funny. But that was all in the past.
Recent seasons have become more crude than funny — crude for the sake of it instead of actually making a good joke about it. There are only so many jokes about the same situations that you can tell and there is almost a sense that the showrunners were hinting that the show would come to an end this season. I’m not the only one who things so, either.
One of the benefits of a show like South Park is storylines don’t need to be wrapped. We could find out the Season 22 finale is a series finale and not feel like we’ve lost out on a potential plot.
Suits
Network:Â USA Network
Number of seasons:Â 8
Why it’s in danger of being canceled: I will be one of the first people to say Suits Season 8 was much better than I initially expected it to be. After dropping off at the sixth season, I quickly caught up in time for the Season 8 premiere and decided to give it a chance with some fresh faces.
Yet, the ratings are a worry. With a 0.26 in the demo and 1.165 million in the total audience, both have dropped with percentages in the double figures. Also, showrunner Aaron Korsh has mentioned that we’re closer to the end than the beginning. This does mean there’s not going to be a 16th season and doesn’t mean the show will come to an end at the end of this season, but you never know!
There’s one thing that gives me hope for Suits. USA Network has already canceled so many of its shows. It’s also in the top half of all shows (all the bottom half shows have been canceled or coming to a natural end) so Suits may get another season to wrap storylines.
Suits has been renewd for a ninth and final season.
