16. Will the Smith girls remain loyal to the Nazi cause?

Both girls have grown up with this regime. They fully believe in the system and are ready to do what it takes to protect it. This isn’t surprising as their schooling has been the Nazi propaganda.

But now they’re with their mother on the run from everyone. They had no idea what’s been going on right now, but they know that their mother is in the wrong. Will they remain on her side and listen to what life was like before the Nazis? Will they trust her in everything she says the Nazis do?

Helen things she’s lost John. She can’t trust him and is scared enough to run away. Yet, John has always just tried to do what’s best for his family. While some will see him as a villain, he’s the hero in his story and just wants to keep everyone safe.

Now that he’s lost his own family, we could finally start to see his whole resolve go. Will he completely lose faith in a system he’s uphelded to protect his family? Maybe he’ll go deeper into it now that he’s got nothing left to lose.

He’ll want his daughters back to know they’re safe. The last thing he’ll want is for them to die because of something Helen has done. But which side is he really on?
