1. Homecoming

The #1 show you need this week is Homecoming. The most highly anticipated Prime Original of the fall is finally here. Starring Julia Roberts, Bobby Cannavale, and Stephan James, the series is based on a podcast, making it the second Amazon Prime series based on a podcast.

Roberts plays Heidi Bergman, a caseworker at a facility called Homecoming. While working there, she helped soldiers transition into civilian life. When she leaves to look after her mother, a Department of Defense auditor comes ot her with questions about why she left the facility.

Sure enough, this is when it turns into the psychological thriller. Heidi realizes that there may have been more at play than just needing to look after her mom. There was another story going on at Homecoming and she’s taken back through her memories as she tries to figure it all out. Just why did she leave Homecoming after all?

The first episode was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival, followed by the first four episodes being screened elsewhere. So far, the ratings have been strong and positive about the acting, screenwriting, and directing.

Homecoming is released on Amazon Prime Video in full on Nov. 2.
