7. Extrano Enemigo

On Tuesday, you’ll want to check out the first of a series of Prime Originals dropping on Amazon Prime Video this month. Extrano Enemigo is a one-hour political thriller that will be available on a weekly basis throughout the month. Oct. 2 will see the first episode drop.

Based on the true events that led to the Tlatelolco Massacre in 1968, the drama shows how Commander Fernando Barrientos focused on his goal of becoming the next President of Mexico. That led to a manipulation and betrayal, followed by a path of murder.

6. Robocop

Another movie of the past that’s dropping on the service this week is Robocop. In fact, the second and third installments are also dropping but for the purpose of this piece, I’m focusing on the first movie.

Set in a near-apocalyptic version of Detroit, the Omni Consumer Products wins a city government contract to make the police force a private company. Of course, the corporation is evil and decides to test out their cyborgs that have been designed to eradicate crime.

Peter Weller stars as Alex Murphy, a street cop who is lured into a confrontation with Boddicker, a crime lord. The intention is to test out this new RoboCop prototype. Of course, once RoboCop finds out the truth, he decides to turn on the masters.
