The Purge is one of those movies that we didn’t know what to expect at the time. Nor did we expect it to become what it is today. Since that first movie, we’ve gained multiple sequels and a TV series. One of the sequels is out on Blu-Ray and DVD next week. Yes, it’s all about The First Purge.

Available from Oct. 2, 2018, this is the perfect way to kick start the scariest month of the year. As the title suggests, you’re taken all the way back to that first purge. What was it like for those who witnessed the first night where absolutely everything is legal? Where emergency services won’t come out and where you need to make sure your home is on total lockdown?

For those who have somehow avoided the franchise completely, in this universe, Purge Night happens one night a year. It’s an annual occurance that everyone gets ready for. Some will choose to remain safely inside, while others go out for their rights to kill, maim, torture, and much more.

There are others that take part in more ghastly and shocking ways. There are Purge Parties, where victims are chosen and kidnapped off the streets, forced to take part. Others will sell themselves to the highest bidder to be used as the victim, making sure their family members are protected financially.
