Parks and Recreation is now available on Amazon Prime Video
By Bryce Olin
Amazon Prime Video picked up the streaming rights to NBCUniversal’s Parks and Recreation, along with House, Eureka and Friday Night Lights.
We have some great news for Amazon Prime Video viewers! On Thursday, April 5, Amazon added NBCUniversal’s hit comedy series Parks and Recreation, along with House, Friday Night Lights and Eureka!
An Amazon representative reached out to Amazon Adviser with the news of the Prime Video new releases.
Clearly, the biggest addition is Parks and Rec, one of the top comedies available on any streaming service. The show produced more stars than almost any comedy of the last two decades. The series is also available to stream on Hulu and Netflix. Those who haven’t seen it will definitely want to check it out on Prime Video! The series stars Amy Poehler, Chris Pratt, Rob Lowe, Adam Scott, Aubrey Plaza, Rashida Jones, Nick Offerman and Aziz Ansari.
The show focuses on Leslie Knope (Poehler) and her team working at the Pawnee Parks Department.
Of course, you must be an Amazon Prime member or Prime Video subscriber to watch Parks and Rec, Eureka, House and Friday Night Lights on Prime Video. If you don’t have a Prime Video subscription, Amazon has a special offer on right now that allows you to try Prime Video, along with the rest of the perks of Amazon Prime, for free for 30 day!

House and Eureka, on the other hand, are not available to stream on any other streaming service, only Prime Video, according to the Amazon rep. That’s a huge get for Prime Video as Amazon tries to carve out a space for themselves in the streaming industry.
In the TV arms race, Amazon is trailing Netflix and Hulu by a significant margin, but if Amazon is able to add more shows like these four, the gap will definitely start to close.
