Sneaky Pete season 2, episode 4 recap and grade: Maggie
Marius has a premonition that leads him to Pete’s mom but the drama is just getting started.
How about that cliffhanger ending in episode 3?! If you were like me, you had to start watching episode 4 of Sneaky Pete season 2 right away after that. With Carly at the motel and knocking on all the doors trying to find the man she thinks is Marius, but is really her cousin Pete, she soon finds his room. Carly tries to deliver the pizza to Real Pete, but neither one recognized the other. She calls Taylor to check it out, but Marius arrives and quickly defused the situation. Marius leaves the motel with Frank and Joe who were waiting for him as the clock is ticking to find Real Pete’s mom and the money.
Marius tells Pete to go to Sedona to find his mom. Meanwhile, Marius leads Frank and Joe on a road trip to Rosedale where he believes she’s actually hiding out in a psychic community.
When they arrive, they try to get a lay of the land and look into some of the new arrivals to the community. Marius is able to make it appear like he’s got a psychic gift, while Joe isn’t as convincing and garners some wrong attention. Marius has to convince Ethel, who is the default mayor of the community. He sells her on his gift and has her blessing to tour the town. Joe isn’t convinced Pete’s mom is here, but Marius figures it out. Ethel’s assistant is Maggie Murphy, Real Pete’s mom.
Marius tells Pete’s mom about the men after him to find her and the money she stole. She seems susprised men are after her, but is willing to cooperate. Until she wasn’t. Ethel emerges with a shotgun and holds Marius and Joe at gunpoint as Maggie plans her escape route. Ethel wants Marius to tell her about the story of that toe that his brother is missing. This makes Joe extra suspicious and makes him wonder if he and Frank have the right guy.
Ethel eventually can’t be the watch for long and she eventually falls asleep which allows Marius and Joe to leave without any harm being done. Now they know Maggie is indeed alive and she’s in town. Now they have to find her before she gets too far away.

In one of the better scenes of the season so far, Carly mentions to Taylor how much she misses their parents. She was only in kindergarten when they were killed. Taylor tells her she’s just like their mom. He also tells her she can’t blame their dead parents for everything and she’s not the only one hurting, and that’s why no one is really talking about them. It also nearly killed their grandparents so they keep to themselves out of respect for them. Taylor also lets it out that their parents weren’t killed by a driver when he was drunk. He was a drunk, but he wasn’t drunk at the time of the accident.
Julia goes to lunch with Trish who was having an affair with Lance, and as it turns out, is still having an affair and Julia confronts them about that.
Taylor and Robie arrive at the crash scene. They find Winslow’s shield. The landowner who saw Audrey the day before mentions to them he say a mature woman with a big gash on her head. Now Audrey is a person of interest. Audrey, perhaps thinking she’s got it all figured out, stages a car crash at grocery store to provide a real story to cover up why she needed a new headlight.
Will this be enough to get Robie off the scent?
