Pete is out of prison and shows up at the farmhouse where Marius has to intervene to avoid his cover being blown but Carly has never been more suspicious.

Pete is out of prison and he shows up to the farmhouse but before he can knock on the door, Marius stops him and drags him into his car. Carly looks out the window and suspects something’s up. Marius says Pete’s family was going to get killed if he didn’t lead them to his mother and the $11 million. Pete tells the story about what happened on the heist when he believes his mom and her boyfriend Reggie were killed and why he robbed the gun range. He did it to stall for his mom and he thinks he failed her and that’s what got everyone killed.

Marius and Pete are holed away at a motel trying to keep a low profile from Frank and Joe but also to keep Pete away from his family. With Marius leaving Pete to his own devices in the motel room, he tells him to go to the bar for a drink. At the bar sits Marjorie, who is planted there to approach Pete and to try to get him to open up about his mom. Pete confesses that his mom is alive and in Sedona but he promised to say she was dead.

With that angle cleared up, Marius has to answer some questions from Carly when she asks him about that guy she saw get in his car. Marius tells her he’s the guy’s sponsor, but she’s not taking the bait so she does some detective work of her own. She stashes her phone underneath the passenger seat of Marius’ car so she can track his whereabouts. She sees he’s headed to the motel and wants to see if the guy inside is the same guy she saw on Taylor’s computer last season and really “Marius”, the criminal who was involved with Winslow. She pretends to be a pizza delivery person and approaches the room where her cousin is staying.

Will she recognize her cousin is inside the room? Will Marius be burned? The episode ends on a dramatic cliffhanger so we have to wait until episode 4 to find out, but there’s plenty of surrounding drama to complement this storyline.
