Today is cause for celebration because we have 10 new episodes of Sneaky Pete to watch on Amazon Prime Video. Season 2 was released on Friday, March 9 and if you’re like me, you’ll want to turn your phone off and avoid all human contact until you can finish the new season. This is my favorite drama on Prime Video and one of the best Amazon Originals, along with Mozart in the Jungle and Catastrophe so I’ve been counting down the days ever since we found out it was coming out in March.
Now that the day has arrived, all that is left to do is to sit down and begin watching.
If you need a quick refresher on what happened at the end of season 1, Marius thought he was in the clear after convincing the Bernhardts that he was actually Pete, his former cellmate in prison. Marius adopted Pete’s identity to by himself time to come up with the money he needed to get his brother free from the crime lords that he conned.
All Marius had to do was get in the car and he would be free, but before he could do that, he is apprehended by two mysterious guys who demand the $11 million that was stolen from them by Pete’s mom. Now Marius has to take them to Pete’s mom who will realize he’s not her son, so this is the toughest con job that he’s been faced with yet. How will he get out of this pickle? Well, this is why we have to binge-watch to find out what happens next.
And what really is going to make this season interesting is the impending release of the real Pete from prison who will presumably try to reunite with his mother and estranged family. Once they see the real Pete is there, will they accept him as who he is or will they be convinced that Marius is actually Pete?
