Will Mozart in the Jungle be renewed or canceled by Amazon?
Mozart in the Jungle season 4 premiered on Feb. 16 and fans are already wondering if the show will continue on Amazon Prime Video or if this was the end of the run for the Golden Globe-winning series.
Have you watched all 10 new episodes of Mozart in the Jungle on Amazon Prime Video yet? If you have, you’re likely wondering when you’ll be able to get your binge-watch on again and watch more episodes of the Amazon Original series.
And you’d fall in line with me as Mozart in the Jungle is one of the best binge-watches around, no matter the network, channel or streaming device. Vanity Fair called it a springy, lovely fourth season and you’re probably missing out.
The show has won over fans who adore the series about the New York Symphony and its members and eccentric maestro Rodrigo, played by the Golden Globe-winning Gael Garcia Bernal, the show remains severely underrated.
That has led to many fans of the show wondering if it’s popular enough for new Amazon Studios boss Jennifer Salke to renew the series for a fifth season.
Update 4/9: Amazon decided to cancel Mozart in the Jungle after four seasons.
At the time of publishing, Mozart in the Jungle has not been renewed for season 5. Is it time to panic for fans? No, not yet. It’s still only a few days removed from the launch of season 4 and these decisions take some time to make.
And this decision could take a little longer than normal after the change at the top of Amazon Studios. Salke has only been on the job for a few days and has a lot of things to tend to that a renewal of Mozart in the Jungle isn’t the utmost priority. But it’s something that she’ll have to circle back to in the coming weeks and months.
I expect Mozart in the Jungle to be renewed for a fifth season as it will continue to build out its audience and make a case to overtake Transparent as the best Amazon Original series, with Bosch also in the conversation for that distinction.

A renewal should come within the next two months. As the show begins to look toward a potential fifth season, it does stand to reason that the show could be closing in on an end game. How many more seasons will the show continue? How many storylines exist for these characters? How long will the audience remain engaged before tuning out?
These are all questions that Amazon and Salke will have to weigh as they make their decision whether to cancel or renew and if they renew, for how many seasons.
But rest easy, Hailey, Rodrigo and the rest of Mozart in the Jungle are expected to return for a fifth season, and I’d expect that to premiere next winter on Prime Video.
