Here’s everything you need to know about the new Amazon Original series Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams, premiering on Amazon Prime Video on Jan. 12.

2018 is shaping up to be a great year for Amazon Prime Video with their lineup of new and old shows coming out over the next several months. Fresh off the success of the Golden Globe-winning series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, there’s plenty of new Prime members signing up to check out the buzzworthy show, but that’s far from the only reason to check out Prime.

While the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel stole headlines the last few months, the focus is shifting to the next big show on Amazon Prime Video and that’s Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams. The series is based on the short stories of the legendary sci-fi writer who previously penned such classics like Blade Runner, Minority Report, Total Recall and whose book was the inspiration behind the most-watched Amazon Original series The Man in the High Castle.

This is going to be the next big thing and if you’re a fan of the Netflix series Black Mirror, you’re going to dig this. Let’s do a little Electric Dreams 101 to brief you on everything you need to know about the new show starring the likes of Steve Bucschemi, Bryan Cranston and Vera Farmiga.

Electric Dreams Trailer

Now that you’ve got the 411 on Electric Dreams, the last bit of important information you need is the release date information. As mentioned at the top of the article, the show is coming out on Friday, Jan. 12.

However, Amazon will release their new shows at midnight GMT, so that means you can start watching a little earlier depending on your time zone without having to wait until Friday. It’s like a special early screening for those super anxious to start watching. And because I’m thinking many will be super excited to start watching, I had to share that note.

I have high hopes for Electric Dreams and hope there will be more stories from Philip K. Dick to mine to make more episodes of this show so it’ll get renewed for a second season.
