The full list of what’s new on Amazon Prime Video in January 2018, including Doctor Who season 10, Grimm season 6 and Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams!
Amazon Video announced the full list of what’s new on Amazon Prime Video in January 2018, and it’s a good haul for the streaming service to start 2018.
An Amazon representative reached out to Amazon Adviser with the full list of Amazon Prime Video new releases for the month of January. If you like TV shows, this should be a good month for you. Movies? Not so much.
Doctor Who season 10 kicks things off on Monday, Jan. 1, 2018. As one of Amazon’s biggest shows, Doctor Who season 10 should be a huge event for fans of the series. You can start streaming as soon as the clock strikes midnight on the year 2017. Less than a week later, Amazon Prime Video releases the final season of Grimm (season 6). For a time, Grimm was one of the most popular shows on the streaming service. The series finale aired on NBC in March 2017.
The most important new Amazon original series hitting the streaming service in January is obviously Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams. The series premiered on Channel 4 in the U.K. in September and ran for 10 episodes. The series is an anthology series, and it focuses on different aspects of Dick’s work.
Dick also wrote the short novel The Man in the High Castle, which is what the most popular Amazon series is based on.
Overall, it’s a pretty weak month for movies coming to Amazon Prime Video. There are movies worth watching; don’t get me wrong. But, it’s just not as good as other recent months. xXx: The Return of Xander Cage hits Prime Video on Jan. 31.
Earlier in the month, you can also catch Zodiac, The Midwife, Thelma and Louise, Reservoir Dogs and more great movies on the streaming service.
