Will Transparent be canceled following Jeffrey Tambor’s exit?

Will Amazon cancel their original series Transparent after star Jeffrey Tambor left the series because of sexual harassment allegations? The future of the series is up in the air.

Earlier this month, Jeffrey Tambor, the star of the Amazon original series Transparent, left the series following sexual harassment allegations against him from Van Barnes, Tambor’s personal assistant, and Trace Lysette who starred in Transparent.

With the lead actor leaving the series, is Amazon planning on canceling Transparent before the fifth season is released? That remains to be seen. Amazon has not announced their plan moving forward with the series, but all the signs are pointing to Amazon producing another season of Transparent.

At the time of publishing, it does not appear Amazon is considering canceling the series. Of course, that’s part of the discussions, even if Amazon is not talking about it publicly. According to the Deadline report announcing Tambor’s resignation from the series, the writers were already trying to find a way to proceed forward with the story after the first allegation surfaced.

On top of that, Amazon had not even picked up Tambor’s contract for season 5 yet, according to the report. That, to me, says the series may have been moving away from Tambor for the new season anyway and focusing on the rest of the Pfefferman family. After the fourth season, that might be the way to go, although the quality of the series has dipped considerably since the first few seasons.

So, Transparent fans, it looks like the best Amazon original series will continue for at least another season. As mentioned, Amazon has not announced the entire plan for the new season of the series.

Transparent is Amazon’s most successful original series, and the show ranks in the top 10 of the best shows streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
