The Last Tycoon Plot Summary
Based on the novel from F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Last Tycoon is set in the 1930s and tells the tale of budding Hollywood studio executive Monroe Stahr as he looks to gain a stronghold in the movie industry. He’s working as a studio executive and having a great deal of success but he is in a tug-of-war with his boss, Pat Brady, which always complicates matters. As Monroe searches for inspiration and motivation to make a life-changing movie, he may have found his muse in the form of an attractive waitress.

The Last Tycoon Cast
Matt Bomer plays the role of Monroe Stahr. You may recognize him from White Collar, The Nice Guys, The Magnificent Seven and American Horror Story. Kelsey Grammer plays the role of Pat Brady, Monroe’s boss, and the father to Celia Brady. Lily Collins plays Celia Brady. Bailey Noble plays Bess Burrows. Dominique McElligott plays Kathleen Moore. Rosemarie Dewitt plays Rose Brady. The Last Tycoon was created by Billy Ray who also directs three episodes. He’s known for The Hunger Games, Shattered Glass, Captain Phillips and State of Play.
