Here’s everything you need to know about Amazon Prime Day and how you can save some big bucks when the flurry of deals get underway.

Outside of Cyber Monday and Black Friday, there may not be a bigger day for Amazon shoppers than Amazon Prime Day. You may have seen commercials and promotion for this event in recent days and wondered what it was all about. So I’m here to tell you what it’s all about and how you can be a part of this huge event.

Amazon Prime Day is a special event held annually for customers to take advantage of some big savings on select products from a wide range of departments. Amazon Prime Day begins on June 10 at 9:00 p.m. ET and the deals unfold over the course of 30 hours. While Amazon Prime Day gets underway at Amazon Alexa users can begin, voice shopping deals at 7pm ET.

That’s a lot better than some of the Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals you’ll see that are confined to a few hours or otherwise are very limited for the customer to take advantage of. A 30-hour window is plenty of time for customers to find some products they want and they don’t need to worry about heading out to a crowded retail outlet and deal with a frenzy of crowds. However, there are also Lightning Deals that run for a limited time and only have limited quantities.

This is the third annual Amazon Prime Day and Amazon is billing this as a day when hundreds of thousands deals being offered every five minutes. You can begin watching the deals hours before they go live.

And if you miss out on an item or deal you really wanted, you can click to join the waitlist that will be on the item’s page and if it becomes available, you’ll get an alert on your phone.

Speaking of your phone, make sure you have downloaded the Amazon app. On the app, you can find “Today’s Deals” then you’ll click “Upcoming” to see the various deals a day early and if you click “Watch this deal” you will get a notification on your phone when it goes live. You can also download the Amazon Assistant feature for PC users.
