11. “Dive”

We have all been here and don’t try to deny it. Ed really plays on the heartstrings and all the moments we have loved and lost. This song showcases what it is like to not know if the person you want it truly, truly interested.

The Feels: I can see myself in high school playing this song as I am walking through the halls. There is no way anyone can deny that this song reminded them of a moment when love turned on them. It’s not the best on the album, but it is worth the number 11 spot for its nostalgia.

The Lyrics: I find myself thinking, “Yes!” after hearing some of the lyrics. Seriously, don’t call me baby unless you mean it. How powerful is that? Ed really hits hard with the lyrics and crafts amazing representations of what it means to be trapped in a one-sided relationship.

The Beat: It’s hard hitting, intense, and kind of classic. There is no denying that this beat is a hint at the older generation of music, but it isn’t something to dance to. This song is something you can plug in headphones and personally reflect, but we all need those songs.
