12. “Hearts Don’t Break Around Here”

A bit softer, this song kinda tugs on the heart strings. Although it is something we expected from Sheeran, but what makes this song a little more special is Sheeran’s lovely lady. He confirmed some of the songs are about his love Cherry Seaborn, and this song is one of them, according to a report from Heavy. So, if that didn’t make you grin just a little, I don’t know what will.

The Feels: This song is written about the love of his life and it mentions the small things that she does to make him happy. He is safe, happy, and enjoying all the things about their relationship that he never wants to forget.

The Lyrics: Oh come on.. we have to fall in love with the idea that Sheeran feels safe around his girlfriend Cherry. According to Genius, the lyrics are “I feel safe when you’re holding me near. Love the way that you conquer your fear. You know hearts don’t break around here.” This alone is enough to smile.

The Beat: This is the only thing I find kind of disappointing in this song. The beat is very soft and light, but it isn’t memorable. I don’t find myself wanting to dance to it, or slow dance with my love, but I would rather have it as background noise. You almost had me, Ed.
