8. “What do I know?”

Thank you, Ed for giving us this piece. Ed gives us his insight into the modern world and how we can change the world of hate, but he reminds us to listen to the little guy. It isn’t always the man with four doctorates and a master degree, but sometimes it takes life experience. This song shows how one person can change the world and it is actually quite simple.

The Feels: We needed a pick-me-up in today’s society. With hate, racism, prejudice, and politics flooding our TV screen, it is nice to hear a version of it that we can actually do something about. Most of us can relate to Sheeran when he described himself as normal, but had a God-given talent he wants to use for the better.

The Lyrics: Sheeran knew exactly how to feed us these lyrics to make us understand his point. All he has is his guitar and a song to reach out to the world, but he is confident that he can make a change. He helps the “little man” out and tries to open the world’s eyes to who can really benefit the hard-hitting issues.

The Beat: The beat is nothing spectacular, but it is perfect for the message of the song. In this particular song, the beat is not the center point. If Sheeran used a heavier tempo, the message could’ve been thrown off.
