Release Date: Friday, April 7

Amazon goes behind-the-scenes of the Playboy mansion, Playboy magazine, and the man behind it all, Hugh Hefner, in the new series American Playboy: The Hugh Hefner Story. The series premieres on Amazon Prime Video on April 7.

Here is a synopsis of the series, via Amazon:

"A fascinating docuseries chronicling Playboy magazine’s charismatic founder, Hugh Hefner, and his impact on global culture. Told from his unique perspective with never-before-seen footage from his private archive, discover the captivating story about the man behind the bunny."

The documentary series will also feature re-enactments to help paint a better picture for viewers.

At the time of publishing, we haven’t heard if this is just a limited series or if Amazon will make another season of the series. We will likely find out shortly!

Amazon has made some great strides in the documentary series recently. All of Nothing: A Season with the Arizona Cardinals was a great doc series!
