Amazon Pilot Season: Help pick the next great series on Prime Video
Amazon Pilot Season is here and you can help pick the next great show to air on Amazon Prime Video based on your feedback.
Have you ever dreamed of sitting at the head of a desk at a prodigious television studio? Well, your dream can become a reality thanks to Amazon Pilot Season. Amazon released five pilots on Friday, March 17 and viewer feedback will help determine whether full seasons of the shows are ordered or not.
There is a survey you can fill out that won’t take very much time at all that asks for your thoughts and opinions on the pilots. If you liked a particular pilot, you will say as much and what you liked about it. Pretty cool stuff by Amazon to let the fan have their voice be heard and feel like they are instrumental in determining what shows will be streaming on Amazon Prime Video. I wonder if this is a practice that could be adopted by Netflix, Hulu, HBO and other TV networks because I think it’s pretty neat.
Here’s a rundown of the five pilots now streaming on Prime Video:
The New V.I.P.s: 30-minute animated comedy from Steve Dildarian about unhappy workers at a company who kill their boss and run the company. Ben Schwartz, Matt Braughner, Jonathan Adams and Missi Pyle star.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel: Rachel Brosnahan stars as an aspiring stand-up comedian in the 50s. The show was created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, the creator of Gilmore Girls.
Budding Prospects: A show about marijuana farmers in 1980s California. Joel David Moore and Brett Gelman head up the cast.
The Legend of Master Legend: John Hawkes plays a wannabe superhero in Las Vegas.
Oasis: Rob Stark from Game of Thrones, Richard Madden, stars in this sci-fi series based on The Book of Strange New Things from Michael Faber. Oasis is about a group of people trying to start life on a planet, so if you’re a fan of sci-fi, this could be the pilot you love the most.
