4. Henry Collins Is Executed On Television

Episode 9, “Detonation”

The Resistance committed a terrible act with its treatment of Henry Collins and his wife Lucy. The Resistance kidnapped Lucy and utilized her to blackmail Henry. Henry’s access to the German’s broadcast center allowed the Resistance to deliver the message about Hitler’s death before the Reich issued a statement to massage the fear of the public.

The Resistance demonstrated its true colors in that they broadcasted this message purely to instill fear within the public. They knew Henry would not make it out of the center alive, so they also could have done anything with Lucy. As Henry read the message on air, the countdown began until a soldier finally entered the room to execute him live on television. This series of events certainly shook the citizens of the east coast who received the unexpected news of Hitler while a soldier simultaneously killed one of Joseph Goebbels’ chief propagandists.

This event caused a shift in Juliana’s perception of the Resistance. Their fight for a noble cause could ink down to the atrocities which the Japanese or Nazis committed against its enemies. Here, the Resistance showed its true colors and astounding similarities to the Nazis.
