10. The Tick
The Tick is based on the comics of the same name created by Ben Edlund. The comic has been the inspiration for TV shows and other creative works.
Edlund is also credited with creating the TV series for Amazon. The pilot episode premiered on Amazon in 2016 along with I Love Dick and Jean-Claude Van Johnson. All three pilots were picked up.
Here is the synopsis for the series, via Amazon:
"In a world where superheroes have been real for decades, an accountant with mental health issues and zero powers comes to realize his city is owned by a global super villain long-thought dead. As he struggles to uncover this conspiracy, he falls in league with a strange blue superhero."
Peter Serafinowicz, Griffin Newman, Valorie Curry, Brendan Hines, Jackie Earle Haley, and Whoopi Goldberg star in the series.
