5. The Easter Eggs

As we said, Alexa has a ton of personality that many other smart-home technologies just can’t match. Yes, she is in fact a robotic voice behind a computer program, but she’s been programmed with several features that allow you to have some fun with her and the Amazon Echo. The best example of that is the Easter Eggs that have been programmed.

Like Siri on iOS devices, Alexa on the Amazon Echo will answer questions regarding just about anything. However, she’s also been programmed with various pop culture references if you ask the right questions. There are call-responses that touch on virtually every area of pop culture, from Star Trek to Star Wars to Internet memes and much, much more.

Though this might not be really anything functional, denying the entertainment value of it would be crazy! Who doesn’t want a smart-home technology who is up on their pop culture and able to crack some jokes? We’re pretty sure that’s the dream and is the first reason why the Amazon Echo is the best.
