The Revenant is based on the life story of Hugh Glass, a frontiersman who lived and explored the unknown as a fur trapper and trader during the 1800s.

The novel was also a New York Times Bestseller.

The Revenant was nominated for 12 Oscars at the 2016 Academy Awards, which includes all the major categories: Best Picture, Best Actor in a Leading Role (Leonardo DiCaprio), Best Supporting Actor (Tom Hardy), Best Director, and more.
