It’s been quite a journey for this story to be made into a TV series.
Back in 2010, BBC picked up the story for a four-part adapted miniseries of The Man in the High Castle with Ridley Scott and Howard Brenton at the helm. However, for reasons unknown, the series was never made.
A few years later, in 2013, it was announced that SyFy was making a four-part adapted miniseries based on The Man in the High Castle with Scott and, this time, Frank Spotnitz at the helm. Somewhere along the line, that project fell through, and that’s when Amazon stepped in.
In 2014, Amazon began filming the pilot episode for The Man in the High Castle with Scott as an executive producer and Spotnitz as the showrunner.
