20. The Man in the High Castle asks two important questions about freedom
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Spotnitz revealed what he wants viewers to think about while they’re watching the series. Here is his full statement, via EW:
"“I really just want people to think, to ask, ‘What does it mean to be free? What would you sacrifice to be free?’”"
Those two questions really bring us back to the beginning, if you get what I mean. One could argue that the question Spotnitz is asking with this series set in 1962 is a very important question that should be asked and answered in 2015.
Obviously, after two episodes, we don’t have the answer, and neither does Spotnitz, but the series does make you think! That’s for sure!
