18.The CGI is fantastic!

We haven’t heard exactly how much Amazon spent on the series, but based on the level and quality of the Computer-generated Imagery, or CGI, I can’t imagine it’s a cheap series!

Because the series is set in the 1960s and in an alternative universe, basically, it’s crucial that The Man in the High Castle looks and feels like a different America. The set decoration and design is going to set the tone, in that regard, but it’s the CGI that sets the show apart from other series of the same genre.

The best part of the CGI is how natural it actually looks. There’s nothing more jarring than some CGI that doesn’t look right or fit with the tone of the show. In the first two episodes, I was never taken aback by any CGI shortcuts or anything like that. In fact, if anything, I was wow’d by some of the CGI, including the incredible shot of Times Square in New York City with the swastikas all over the place.
