We’re almost at the end of 2019. With just days to go, it’s time to look ahead at the shows and movies coming to Amazon Prime VIdeo in January 2020.

The end of 2019 is almost here. With that brings the new releases for the next month. What exactly is on its way to Amazon Prime Video in January 2020?

There aren’t as many Originals making their way to the streaming service during the first month of 2020. That’s not all that surprising. It’s a relatively quiet month for streamers with midseason premieres on the network channels. So, why not keep the big releases for later in the year? That doesn’t mean we’re not getting some great content.

Troop Zero is making its way to Amazon Prime Video in January. This 1970s-set movie is all about one young girl daring to defy the odds. She wants to go to space, make contact with aliens. Of course, she’s an outcast in a world that doesn’t think she’ll achieve much. So, with a ragtag bunch of girls (and one boy) she puts together a team to enter national championships to reach her dream.

If you need a docu-series, Ted Bundy: Falling for a Killer is heading our way at the end of the month. This five-part series focuses on Ted Bundy’s girlfriend and daughter. It’s a look at the women Bundy interacted with over the years, and the lasting effect he has had on them.

When it comes to third-party movies, there are some great releases from 2019 finally making their way to Prime Video. Midsommar is going to be a top pick for many, but you can also sit back and watch Fighting With My Family, Hereditary and much more.

And we can’t overlook the old classics that are heading to the stream. All the old Star Trek movies are on their way, along with The Goonies, The Bellboy, and more.
